Marcello Attard won his first competition of the season as he won the Loporto Trophy which incidentally is the last competition of the MSSF 2017 Calendar.
Like last week in the Olympic Trap Event, this was a Handicap Competition in the Skeet Event which was organized for the very first time ever by The Malta Shooting Sport Federation.
Shooters who shot in this occasional Event all shot at three rounds of twenty five clay targets each, where their original scores were adjusted and converted to net scores after a handicap was added.
Four perfect straights of 25/25 by Jason Agius, Marcello Attard, Bozhidar Dimitrov and Marlon Attard were registered in this competition and three near perfect rounds of 24/25 were registered by the Gozitan brothers, Marcello and Marlon Attard and also by Jason Sciberras.
The top six shooters were;
1st Marcello Attard 72/75 + 3 (Handicap) = 75 Points
2nd Marlon Attard 71/75 + 1 (Handicap) = 72 points
3rd Noel Scicluna 66/75 + 4 (Handicap) = 70 points
4th Jason Agius 66/75 + 4 (Handicap) = 70 points
5th Bozhidar Dimitrov 68/75 + 1 (Handicap) = 69 points
6th Jason Sciberras 61/75 + 2 (Handicap) = 63 points
The MSSF Skeet Programme will resume after the Festive Season holidays, with the first competition being a selection shoot for the ISSF World Cup Changwon, Korea. This shoot will be on the Saturday and Sunday, January 20 and 21, 2018 at the Bidnija Ranges.
