Two athletes from the Malta Weightlifting Association are in Brisbane on a weeklong training camp at the Cougars Weightlifting Club from the 26th of September to the 3rd September before the head to the Gold Coast to fight for qualification for the Commonwealth Games. Jessica Edge, who competed in the last edition of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow has joined Kieran Mifsud and Kyle Micallef, who are both in their final preparations; alongside several Australian athletes, before they compete at the Commonwealth Championships between 3rd and 9th September. All three athletes are looking strong and aiming for fantastic performances in their respective categories. This is their final chance to secure a place at the Commonwealth Games in 2018, which will be held at the same location next year.
These championships have attracted more than 400 athletes from 35 different countries.
