Open/Close Menu SportMalta is the Government of Malta’s entity for the development and promotion of Sport in Malta.

On Sunday 9th April 2017 ‘Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi’ will be organizing the Sixth event of the ASMK Pasta Poiatti 2016/2017 Championships. During this program the Autocross Cars and Motocross motorcycles will be taking part in the day’s program while the Association is changing the day’s program of the races. This is taking place so that the spectators who prefer to watch the car or motocross races will be having shorter intervals between races of the same kind. So, on Sunday 9th April the program will start at 9.00am with Motocross races while the Autocross cars start at noon (12: 00hrs). The day’s program will be coming to the end by watching the “Small Car Demolition” which is expected to start at around 3: 30pm.

For this edition of Demolition nearer to Easter 19 cars have registered to participate in this ‘car end of life’ event. The participating vehicles must not be longer than 4 meters (13 ft) in length. In fact this event is called ‘the Demolition of Small Cars’ which apart from being shorter in length than those raced in Christmas time, they are also lighter thus marginally safer too and are more readily available to purchase and break for the fun of the race and the honours associated with the winner and runner-up. As is common practice, the drivers will be briefed with the last minute rules, the chance given to exhibit the cars by performing 2 exhibition laps prior to start banging each other and before beginning their final journey to the scrap yards where they will be chopped and recycled iron.

Meanwhile on Sunday 2nd April 2017 the Association organized the third event of the Championship ASMK Pasta Poiatti Trials Championship. The event was held at the Barriera tal-Qassis of Hondoq ir-Rummien in Qala Gozo where 9 riders competed while being divided into Novices and another for skilled riders and experience in this field.
