Frank Scorfna won the Home Direct Trap Trophy at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club.

This Event was organised on two qualification rounds of 25 clay targets each, where the six highest ranked shooters advanced to the Final and shot in another five knockout stages from a single shot.

The Finals results were;

1st Frank Scorfna 21/25 + 3/5 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 10/10, total score 43/50

2nd Paul Formosa 22/25 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 3/5 + 8/10, total score 42/50

3rd Stephen Vella 21/25 + 3/5 + 4/5 + 4/5, total score 32/40

4th Sean Rizzo 18/25 + 4/5 + 1/5, total score 23/35

5th Rudolph Zammit 16/25 + 5/5, total score 21/30

6th Peter Muscat 16/25, total score 16/25

The top three Shooters in their respective classes concluded their two qualification rounds with the following scores;

Class A

1st Sean Rizzo 45/50 (Count Back Rule)

2nd Stephen Vella 45/50

3rd Paul Formosa 44/50


Class B

1st Rudolph Zammit 44/50

2nd Peter Muscat 43/50 (Count Back Rule)

3rd Frank Scorfna 43/50


Class C

1st Steve Azzopardi 38/50 (Count Back Rule)

2nd Charles Demanuele 38/50

3rd Carmel Briffa 37/50


The MSSF Trap Programme will continue on Saturday, 25 and Sunday, 26 March 2017 at the Bidnija Shooting Ranges with the Muscat Cup, being the third and penultimate selection for GSSE (Games of the Small States of Europe) that will be held in San Marino and the first of four selection shoots for the European Championship – Shotgun to be held later on this year, from 21 July to 04 August in Baku, Azerbaijan.
