Division Three – Mosta Horseshoe Bar B swept past Hamrun Education Bar B 7-1 and now are mathematically promoted to division two with four games to spare. A draw next week for Mosta against bottom team Mgarr The Hatch will also ensure they are crowned division three champions. In other matches, Bugibba Intercontinental Sun City bounced back with a 5-3 win over St Pauls Diamonds after two consecutive defeats which dented their promotion hopes. The team from Bugibba now enjoys a five-point cushion over Hamrun with the latter playing one game less. The remaining match from the division saw St Venera Red Square make it three wins on the trot, this time seeing of the challenge of Mqabba St Mary BC 6-2.

Recently the Super Cup took place which saw Albert Scerri retaining the title he also won last season. En route to the final, Scerri saw off the challenges of team-mate Brian Abela 3-1; Chris Cohen, Andy Keen and Mario Aquilina of Kalkara 3-0, 3-2 and 4-1 respectively. In the final, he was pitted against another Kalkara player, Gordon Stanmore. A top-quality final was on display for the public present at Zejtun Domus which saw Scerri edging out Stanmore in a 5-3 victory to make it back-to-back Super Cup titles.





After winning at Tottenham Hotspurs Club and Marsa St Michaels, Albert Scerri made it a hat-trick of titles with a win at Cospicua Rangers. In the final he defeated Andy Keen of Kalkara with Tony Borg and Brian Abela of Mosta Horseshoe Bar finishing in third place. The next ranking tournament on the calendar is scheduled for the 26th March at Zejtun Domus.




The third edition of the Malta Ladies Challenge shield is underway with Carol Woodcock leading the way on 10 points, followed in second place by Jane Agius Baggaley on 8 points and Carin Bauchope, Lesley Tucker and Dianne Cass on 7 points in third place. All the matches from this competition are played at the Munchies Pub in Bugibba every Thursday night with finals night Schedule for the second week in April.
