Meanwhile, Division One leaders Birkirkara will take on Division Two side Mosta, tomorrow night. The Stripes last won the cup in 2014 and will be aiming to wrap up the season with a domestic double. Swieqi United and Kirkop United will cross swords in one of the most intriguing quarter-finals. While the Oranges are on the verge of being promoting to the top tier, Kirkop are enjoying one of their best seasons among the elite of Maltese football. Both teams met each other last year in the play-off, with the Reds salvaging their Division One status with a 1-0 win over Swieqi. The latter have booked a round two fixture after seeing off Gozo with a 5-3 score line in their first cup outing. – (@ 18.00, @ Mgarr Ground).
Finally, the other quarter-final will be between Division One side Mgarr United and Division Two club Hamrun Spartans, with the former favourites to prolong their cup run. The Spartans qualified for this round after beating Kirkop B in the first round and despite they have not been constant throughout the season, a cup upset is surely in the back of their minds. – (@ 20.15, @ Mgarr Ground).
