Frank Scorfna won the Horace Micallef Trap Trophy at the Southern Shooting Club.

This Event was organised on two qualification rounds of 25 clay targets each, where the six highest ranked shooters advanced to the Final and shot in another five knock out stages from a single shot.

The first stage consists of a total of 25 targets, the second, third and fourth stages consist of 5 targets each while the fifth and last stage consists of 10 targets.

The Finals results were;

1st Frank Scorfna 17/25 + 5/5 + 3/5 + 4/5 + 6/10, total score 35/50

2nd Clayton Carabott 18/25 + 5/5 + 2/5 + 4/5 + 4/10, total score 33/50

3rd George Mifsud 15/25 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 3/5, total score 27/40

4th Carmel Briffa 16/25 + 1/5 + 3/5, total score 20/35

5th Stephen Aquilina 15/25 + 2/5, total score 17/30

6th Mark Bonello 11/25, total score 11/25

The top three Shooters in their respective classes concluded their two qualification rounds with the following scores;

Class A

1st George Mifsud 38/50


Class B

1st Frank Scorfna 41/50

2nd Stephen Aquilina 40/50 (Count Back Rule)

3rd Clayton Carabott 40/50


Class C

1st Carmel Briffa 41/50

2nd Darren Aquilina 35/50

3rd Joe Zammit 33/50


The MSSF Trap Programme will continue on Saturday, 11 and Sunday, 12 February 2017 at the Bidnija Ranges with the NCR Trophy, being the second selection for the ISSF World Cup Shotgun to be held in Larnaca Cyprus later on this year.
