Team FINA and team have dominated the MAPFRE MSV Life National league in recent years.  The two prevailing teams have won all the league titles in the past twenty years, save for four titles claimed by RAMIS.  The current league is promising to be the most balanced league in two decades as the top teams are finding it hard to register full points wins and they keep losing points to the teams traditionally ranking lower down the table.

The strongest challenge is coming from team Turu’s Knights.  The Knights have been challenging for the title for fifteen years and finally this could be their year.  The team has been strengthened by the signing of Japanese player Masaya Oishi but in truth the entire team is setting high scores.  In the first week of February, the team has set new team records, bowling a high game of 898 and a team series of 2599.  Their momentum  predicts that the Knights will break their new record again during this campaign., the reigning champions, remain the favourites to win the honours in the current league, even if they will have to struggle harder to make it this time round.  The fight for the top honours is mirrored by an even keener fight for relegation involving no less than 5 teams and may relegation may remain uncertain till the last week.

In Division 2, the fight for the top places is similarly balanced this year. Four teams, namely STRIKE ME, MIA, Brutal Legends and Blitzkrieg, are all tied up at the top and every match may see they go up or down four places. An interesting battle is looming.
