BOV Women’s First Division

  • Leaders Birkirkara will take on struggling Raiders (Luxol) in their match day 13 encounter, tonight. The Stripes will be striving to add another victory to their unbeaten run with the aim of cementing their leadership in the BOV Women’s First Division ahead of their crucial tie with holders Hibernians, whom they will be facing next. Meanwhile, Raiders have conceded a defeat against fellow salvation-chasers Gozo last week and are now joint-bottom with the Gozitans with four points – (2015, @Charles Abela Stadium – Mosta)

  • Meanwhile, the early kick-off will feature Mgarr United and Gozo. Having lost to Hibernians in the previous match day, Mgarr remained in fourth place and they are eyeing the three points in this match, which would enable them to leapfrog Kirkop United, at least for 24 hours. On the other hand, Gozo have collected three useful points against Raiders, which ignited their play-off chances as they levelled points with Raiders. Coincidentally, these two sides will face each other again on Sunday, in their missing game. A crucial opportunity for either side to register maximum points in this double-header, in order to turn around their seasons – (1800, @Mgarr Stadium and 1100 on Sunday, @Kercem Ajax Stadium)

  • Wrapping up this match day will be the tie between Kirkop United and Hibernians. While the Reds are putting up impressive displays in one of their best seasons in recent years, the holders are still hoping in a final push to successfully defend their title. Three points is a must for them, as their next league opponents are in fact leaders Birkirkara, a fixture which could have a decisive say on this year’s championship – (2015, @Charles Abela Stadium – Mosta)

BOV Women’s Second Division

  • In the second tier, leaders Swieqi United are coasting as they lead the division with 27 points and a game in hand. Their fixture against Kirkop United B should cause them no problems on paper as they are aiming to secure promotion as quickly as possible. Nonetheless, Kirkop have managed to tally four points this season, causing upsets on a couple of occasions, and they will be more than motivated to harm Swieqi’s chances of an automatic promotion, tonight – (2015, @Zebbug Ground)

  • Hamrun Spartans and Tarxien Rainbows will lock horns in the other fixture. Both teams are sitting at mid-table, with the Rainbows in third with 10 points while the Spartans three points below them. While they are almost certainly out of any promotion conversation, both teams will be targeting a win in this match, to secure a top-three finish this season –(2015, @Mgarr Ground)
