Open/Close Menu SportMalta is the Government of Malta’s entity for the development and promotion of Sport in Malta.

During the forthcoming weekend Malta will be represented by three local clubs, namely Valletta Subbuteo Club, Bormla Subbuteo Club and Valletta Lions in the Champions & Europa Leagues which is being held in Rome under the auspices of the Federation of International Sports Table Football (FISTF).

 

Valletta Subbuteo Club which are the local Champions, last year had won the Europa League and this year they have strengthen the team by registering italian player, Massimiliano Nastasi.  The Valletta Subbuteo Club contingent will be composed from Derek Conti, Samuel Bartolo, Joseph Borg Bonaci, Christian Short, Massimiliano Nastasi, Felix Rizzo, Jason Pisani and Roderick Vassallo.

 

Bormla Subbuteo Club which came second in the local championship have also strengthen the team by registering two Belgian, William Van den Houte and Vincent Guyaux and a Greece. Chris Pitsaris. The Bormla Subbuteo Club contingent will be composed from Charles Aquilina, Mauro Camilleri, Josef Camilleri, George Ebejer and Neil Mark Bonnici.

 

Valletta Lions Subbuteo Club which came third during last season has also strengthened their team by registering two local players.  The Valletta Lions Subbuteo Club contingent will be composed from Adrian Bonnici, Hector Scerri, Daniel Spadaro and Melvin Barun. Joseph Zammit Pavia and John Zammit

In addition to the local teams there will also be other Maltese players taking part in these competitions since they play with foreign team. Mark Gauci who is the present Maltese champion and plays for Perugia, Massimo Cremona plays for Reggiana, Hansel Mallia plays for Fiamme Azzurre, Angelo Borg plays for Napoli Eagles and Jean Carl Tabone who plays for Stembert.

 

 

On Saturday all teams will be playing in the Qualifying rounds to determine in which competition the teams will play on Sunday. The first two teams in each group will qualify for the Champions League, while the other teams will play the Europa League.
