Kirkop United and Raiders (Luxol) will be meeting each other in their opening commitment from the BOV Women’s First Division this evening, with both sides striving to kick start their campaign in the best way possible.
Yet, for once, the three points won’t be the main objective in this encounter, as it will be surpassed by the fact that this match will serve as a fund raising event for ALS Malta Foundation.
The ALS Malta Foundation is the national charity focused on Motor Neurone Disease (MND) care, research and campaigning.
Bjorn Formosa, ambassador of the foundation will be leading both sets of players and referees in the pitch, all wearing ALS T-shirts, where the referees will also be officiating in the ALS Tshirts. Other than this, the ALS Foundation will receive donations from every member of the respective clubs and the referees.
The MFA Social Responsibility Department & Women’s Football Department are in full support of this initiative which was proposed by Raiders (Luxol) and immediately backed by Kirkop United.
The match is scheduled at 16:00 and it will be held at the Charles Abela Stadium, Mosta.
