Brian Galea wins the Tumas Group Cup at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club on Sunday 22 May 2016.
This Event was structured on a total of 5 rounds of 25 targets each. It started on Saturday with the participants shooting on 75 clays and it continued on Sunday with the competitors shooting on another 50 targets.
This weekend’s Event was also the last selection shoot for the ISSF European Championships in Shotgun Events that will be held in Lonato Italy between the 04 July 2016 and 12 July 2016. Incidentally Brian Galea also topped the ranking list after four selection shoots for the European Championships; he was followed by Paul Formosa and Nicholas Carabott.
The top six shooters of the Tumas Group Cup were;
In first place was Brian Galea with 112/125 in qualifications, 13/15 + 2 in the semi-final and 13/15 in the Gold Medal Match.
George Mifsud placed second with 116/125 in qualifications, 13/15 + 2 in the semi-final and 12/15 in the Gold Medal Match.
Sean Rizzo came in third with 105/125 in the qualification rounds, 13/15 + 0 in the semi-final and 14/15 in the Bronze Medal Match.
Mario Zammit ended in fourth place with 106/125 in the qualification rounds, 13/15 + 1 in the semi-final and 13/15 in the Bronze Medal Match.
Paul Formosa and Frank Scorfna finished in fifth and sixth place respectively, when they both managed 7/15 in the semi-final with Formosa hitting 107/125 and Scorfna managing 111/125 in the qualifications.
