William Chetcuti and Nathan Lee Xuereb finished in 13th place and 15th place respectively at the ISSF Double Trap World Cup in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Only one point separated the Maltese shooters with William Chetcuti hitting 26-29-26-27-26 for a total score of 134/150, while Nathan Lee Xuereb managed 27-27-26-27-26 for a total of 133/150.

Willet James of Australia won Gold with 138/150 hits in the qualification rounds, 27/30 in the semi final and 27/30 + 2 in the Gold Medal Match.

Mosin Vasily of Russia was runner up with 138/150 hits in the qualification rounds, 27/30 in the semi final and 27/30 + 1 in the Gold Medal Match.

Eller Walton of USA finished in 3rd place on the podium with 137/150 hits in the qualification rounds 25/30 + 4 in the semi final and 28/30 in the Bronze Medal Match.

Italy’s Barilla Antonio placed 4th, Loew Andreas of Germany finished in 5th place and Chianese Alessandro of Italy finished 6th overall.

Jimmy Bugeja, the Malta Double Trap coach was also at the ISSF Double Trap World Cup in Rio beside Nathan Lee Xuereb and William Chetcuti.
