The final stage of the Malta Singles Champion came to an end tonight with Norbert Attard being crowned Malta singles champion for the 2nd time in his career. At the end of the round robin group stage three players ended joint top with ten points; Norbert Attard, Albert Scerri and Gordon Stanmore so play-offs had to be played with Attard coming on top in a 3-2 win against Scerri after both players won their encounter against Stanmore.

These three players will be joined by veteran national team player Vincent Busutill in forming the National team for the European Championships later this year as he finished fourth in the standings on 7 points.

On the night we saw a very high level of darts with the various 180s hit, high checkouts and international level 3-dart averages with Attard and Scerri averaging 85.00 and 88.38 in their encounter and Attard toping that against Stanmore with a 90.31 average.
