On March 1st, St Thomas More College Santa Lucia Secondary School kept its annual appointment, that of organizing a Sports Day for its students at Marsa Sports Grounds. The activity started with an address by the Head of School, Mr Michael Mercieca. Then the students proceeded in groups, towards the turf pitches, to eventually start the activities. In collaboration with Sports Promotion Unit within SportMalta, several activities were offered, namely football, handball, martial arts, athletics and several other fun activities related to physical activity. Students from Form 4 and Form 5 participated enthusiastically in all the activities. An innovative activity was Bumperz where students had to get in a large ball and had to bump into or avoid each other in order not to fall over. They were all so eager to participate in this innovative activity which is another way of keeping one on the move. Towards the end of the day, a game for teachers was also organized with the students watching and cheering their favourite teachers. Students are already looking forward for the next one.
