Following the budget speech whereby SportMalta has been entrusted with a record budget to invest in sport, the Regulatory Affairs Department has worked on launching the assistance schemes for 2021. These schemes are now open and applications are being accepted at the Cottonera Sports Complex, where the head office of SportMalta is situated, until Thursday, 3rd December (noon local time).
The schemes being launched are the:
- International Participation Scheme
- Facility Investment Scheme
- Technical Equipment Scheme
- Sport Tourism Scheme
- Gozo Athletes Travelling Assistance Scheme
- Gozo Team travelling Assistance Scheme
- National Games Leave Scheme
- The Sport Volunteer Register Scheme – introducing a new scheme related to volunteers.
In view of the current worldwide exceptional situation and in an attempt to move to a digitised and environmental friendly entity (where practicable) the Regulatory Affairs Department is highly recommending that applications are sent as a scanned copy to email@example.com. However, sending it by registered post / delivering it by hand at reception is also acceptable.
Furthermore, it is of vital importance that all sports organisations interested in receiving funds through these assistance schemes ensure that they are compliant with SportMalta’s documentation submission requirements and have enrolled (and remained compliant) with the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations.
