SportMalta is working hard in order to build new facilities and improve existing once. This will provide the end users a better quality service.
The works for the second stage of the Basketball Pavillion in Ta` Qali are almost completed. This includes a high level court and spectator stands, offices for the Association, dressing rooms, stores and a restaurant with court view. This will complement the venue which will host the national leagues and the national team matches.
At Marsa Sport Complex following the completion of a new light system, new fence is built around the complex for a safer environment. The fence which varies in height will provide Associations of Golf, Rugby, Baseball and Archery an upgraded environment. Moreover the bocce drome is also towards completion. Works on one of the most beautiful building in Marsa the 1903 building also started this week. Restauration works will come to an end in the second quarter of 2021.
Due to the increase in work load and for the safety of the complexes themselves both the Cottonera Sport Complex and the Kirkop Sport Complex will have two new workshops by the end of this month.
The tennis project at Pembroke will start this week. This will include eight new tennis courts and a club house for the Malta Tennis Association.
Preparatory works on tender are being finalised by the Procurement Department for the Gymnastics Centre, Squash and Weightlifting Centre, Adventure Park and Velodrome to be published.
