Many have seen their sports shattered by enforced lockdowns and social distancing whilst others have had to adapt their regimes around home-schooling and tele-working.
For those fortunate enough to still be able to get time on the water provides a mental and physical recharge. For Clinton Spiteri, a keen stand-up paddler, #beactive was marked by a 25 kilometre solo SUP downwind paddle along the northern coastline.
The sea around the Maltese Islands provide ideal SUP conditions pretty much all year-round for all abilities. The many creeks and caves make it ideal for SUP touring, whilst being an island in the middle of the Med with typically light breeze and low swell makes it great for wing-foiling. For heavier days, there are also some SUP surf spots to suit the adrenaline junkies. So whether you’re into SUP touring, SUP surfing or SUP winging you’re pretty much guaranteed a ride.
Clinton is looking forward to competing in the first local edition of the Molokai to Oahu Virtual paddle race to be held between the 24th to the 26th July 2020. Hopefully the first of many of such paddle events to come. For more information visit http://www.molokai2oahu.com/
