KMS Swimming Academy Launched
Kunsill Malti għall-iSport is expanding its recently established KMS Sport Academy. The objective of the KMS Sport Academy is to serve as a centre of sporting excellence, making use of the KMS facilities, qualified staff and international links to provide a unique experience of sport and to provide a platform for those who want to achieve high level success in the competitive arena of sports. It is directed at those who want to perform at the top levels and possibly compete internationally and take sport professionally.
Following the successful launch of the KMS Goalkeepers’ Academy in October 2010, KMS is now launching the KMS Swimming Academy under the guidance of Head Coach Renzo Galea. This academy will be a platform through which swimmers will be coached to reach the following targets, namely to:
a) develop correct swimming techniques;
b) achieve competitive times in the various swimming strokes; and
c) compete in time trials organised by the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta.
Sessions will be held at the national swimming pool situated within the KMS Tal-Qroqq Sports Complex on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4pm and 5pm.
Applications, for children aged 5 to 16 years are now open. The fee per term is set at €75 for each participant.
