Coinciding with the centenary of international women’s day Kunsill Malti għall-iSport (KMS) successfully organised on Women’s Day a two hour programme of health and fitness activities including Aerobics, Ballet, Yoga, Oriental Fitness which finished with all participants amounting to close to 300 women and young girls, joining together for a mass Zumba class with Pedro and Maria. Sessions were offered free of charge, and took place at the Cottonera Sports Complex.

Woman’s Day activities organised by KMS will continue throughout the week directly with a number of girls secondary schools. Activities include a Handball Tournament involving Forms 1 & 2 from the Zejtun and Pembroke Girls Junior Lyceums and Maria Assunta and Tarxien Girls Secondary Schools. An Aerobics session with Joanna Castillo Refalo with students attending the St. Andrews Girls Secondary and the Pembroke Girls Junior Lyceum and with Cynthia Debono at the Zejtun and St. Lucia Girls Junior Lyceums and the Tarxien Girls Secondary School. Other activities organised include Gymnastics with Robert De Santis at the Senglea Primary, Trekking with Janice Cachia Schembri with girls from Maria Regina Junior Lyceum, Oriental Fitness organised by Bella Schroeder at the Xghajra Primary school and Yoga with Esther Azzopardi at the Msida Primary School.
