The First Pre Equestrian Festival Road Show

Kunsill Malti għall-iSport in collaboration with the Malta Racing Club, the Malta Equestrian Federation and the Malta Polo Club shall be hosting the second edition of the Equestrian Festival, on Sunday, 5th June 2011, at the Marsa Horse Racing Track. The festival will offer a full day of activities, from 7:00am till 6pm, for the general public. It will act as a unique platform to bring together and promote the various Equestrian disciplines, providing also the thousands of enthusiasts with an opportunity of experiencing a day’s activity around horses and riders.

This year the Equestrian Festival will feature novelties, the first of which is a pre event that the Kunsill Malti għall-iSport hosted on Thursday 19th may 2011 at the Marsa Racing Track from 09:30 – till 11:15. Thousands of students attended a morning event during which they, amongst other things  experienced a Gymkhana – a fun activity with games on horseback, that had young talented riders together with their horses as the protagonists.

The highlight of the equestrian road show was the Double Trap Shooting Sport World Champion William Chetcuti who conducted a question and answer session with the students as well as a photograph and autograph session.

The activity also featured other young Maltese sporting talents including the BMX team that put on a spectacular live display for the students attending, who in turn also engaged in a Zumba session.   During the course of the equestrian festival road show, a pony race was organised as fun activity that even gave the opportunity for a few students to ride along side a professional jockey in a race.
