Youngsters immerse in a new aquatic world with KMS Summer on the Move and Kellogg’s

Over 50 youngsters, between 13-16 years of age, are being introduced to the wonderful world of scuba diving as part of the KMS ‘Summer on the Move’, sponsored by Kellogg’s. This is the first time scuba diving lessons have been introduced as part of the KMS ‘Summer on the Move’ Adventure programme.

This particular session offers a basic hands-on introduction to scuba diving skills. Participants are presented with a certificate upon successful completion of the introductory session, and may choose to take further sessions which would lead to the PADI Open Water Diver course certification.

“The Adventure programme offers a taste of the different activities one can engage in, like abseiling, kayaking, cycling, orienteering and beach games. The aim is to help these youngsters gain experience, knowledge and confidence in their physical abilities, while helping them choose the right sport they want to improve in,” said Robert Attard, KMS Coach – Adventure programme.

Prior to the first session in the water, participants were taken through a DVD featuring safety measures, including scuba diving sign language, followed by a written test to assess grasp of safety rules.
