Artisport at the Verdala Palace in Buskett

This morning may have been a dreary day for some but not for the children of Zabbar A Primary School, who spent the morning taking part in the KMS Artisport Activity. Accepting without hesitation an invitation from H.E. The President of Malta Dr. George Abela to visit the magnificent palace in Buskett, coaches and teachers from the Sport Promotion Unit, under the responsibility of Kunsill Malti għall-iSport, organized an Artisport activity for 150 children in Yr 3.

The morning included traditional Maltese games like Xixu, Noli, Skipping Rope, Bocci and Kantunieri and a guided tour around the Verdala Palace. Many may think that these games are of the past, but today they are still valid as they offer a good challenge and a good amount of skills and agility.

The children all had rosy cheeks with the running and jumping in the safe and open space of the Verdala gardens, cracking the silence and stillness of the trees with their laughter.

If any Head of School wishes to give their school a similar experience do not hesitate to contact KMS on tel: 21660658 or email tanya.zahra@sportmalta.org.mt
